Time & Location
About The Event
*Please note that this workshop is intended for folx who identify as Anishinaabe (Anishinaabe, Ojibwe, Chippewa, Saulteaux, Oji-Cree, Odawa, Potawatomi, Algonquin) and/or Métis.*
In this online workshop, we will sit with three plant relations that offer us protection through our individual and collective acts of resistance, resilience, and solidarity. We will be working with these medicines through learning to make a healing salve and talking about the gifts these ancestral plant relations’ share with our bodies and spirits. Together we'll learn about the medicinal properties and spiritual uses of these plants, some ancestral teachings with these plants, and the other ways you can work with them to craft healing.
This community-building knowledge share is taking place on January 11th, and registration will be permitted up to this date. If you register by January 2nd, you will be mailed all the workshop materials you need to make a protective healing salve for FREE, including three plant medicines we will be working with and materials to make the salve.
This workshop will be held online via Google Hangouts. More information on connecting through this platform will be shared via email closer to the workshop date.
Accessibility: If the making of the salve, including using a stove and pouring hot materials, raises accessibility concerns for you, please mention this during registration and we can send you a premade salve or work with you to complete certain steps for you beforehand. We are exploring options for closed captioning for future workshop videos, but it may not be offered in time for this workshop: please mention this at registration and we will do our best to make this workshop suitable for your abilities. If you require typed notes to access the knowledge, please mention this as well and we will prepare these for you. All other accessibility concerns are welcomed and supported!
